My Story
↓
Hello,
My name is Yvette and I am a portrait, animal and interiors photographer who lives in South Wales. From a young age I enjoyed going around with my polaroid I-zone pocket camera taking snaps of family members, our dogs, buildings and nature - if something caught my eye, I would photograph it. This interest as a child developed into a passion and I have never looked back.
Originally from Hong Kong, moving to the luscious rolling valleys of Wales was an enormous change to the skyscrapers and hustle and bustle of Hong Kong. It was there that I developed a love for animals; I rode horses from an early age and have always been surrounded by dogs. Living in Hong Kong, you could not ignore the high end interior designs and fashion. As a result, I have always tried to capture my love for these areas of photography.
I now reside in beautiful South Wales with my husband and our rescue puppy Lyra, who is still learning the art of modelling! I am madly in love with the vibrant passion of the Welsh and the stunning sceneries it offers; I feel incredibly lucky to be able to call this country my home.
My photography style uses natural light; I like my images to tell a story, to be pure and capture moments that can be treasured forever. The natural light allows you to see the magic that I see on the day of shooting. It’s capturing those magic little moments that brings me the thrill of photography.
The best thing in my job is the diversity of experiences, in terms of tails, faces and spaces: one day I can be working on an editorial shoot, the next day photographing a stallion. I could be photographing a whole house for an interior designer’s website or a flat to be listed on AirBnB. Whichever project I work on, I aim to give my best.
As Ansel Adams said, “You don’t take a photograph, you make it.”
